I won't be walking away with £2.5m for a tawdry failure. It will be more likely involve
a few choice comments. Steve McClaren's exit shows the perils of management.
The England versus Croatia game last night was a real disaster, almost Titanic in
its proportions.
I will hopefully stick to four-four-two in Paris for Spizz's football tour. The team
more or less selects itself but hopefully I won't lose the dressing room.

England yet again, will they win tonight?
Well, I hope Scott Carson keeps a clean sheet tonight. And I hope Barry , another Aston Villa plays as well. Lampard and Gerrard don't really gel together. I am having some selection headaches as well for the Paris football tour headed by Spizz, who for many is an icon. I see him
as a footballer, who has got some nice touches. He can quite intricate spins off the ball,
although these are a bit ineffective at the standard we play at on the astroturf.

I hope England win tonight against Croatia although a draw will do. . I have only seen
one England game live and it was a rum affair with the fans booing Bryan Robson, who
was coming to the end of his career. This was a player, who deserved more respect and
who gave his all for any team he was playing for. Robson also scored a couple of memorable
goals against Brighton in the FA Cup, which I will always treasure.
No news yet from Spizz but hopefully he is going down the gym to get that podge down.
I have been slacking a bit as well but I am going to the gym today and I still want to
select myself for the big Paris game.

Football is a cruel game (Part two)
It looks like that I have been deselected. I was in the team but being manager does
not extend to picking the team!! "Spizz Paris" is still going to be a tremendous
experience. The tentative date is Saturday/Sunday, March 8th-9th, 2008.
I know I am nearly veteran status and can't run very fast but I was looking
to make a contribution.
The lads are suggesting that I might be an impact player on the bench. I really
want to play so I can get the cameraderie of the team in the showers.
Aston Villa Mick has pointed out our lack of fitness and so we are going to play
a game in February against the lads, who come after us on the six-a-side
pitch.

Football can be a cruel game!!
Football can be a cruel game. It looks like I will not make the starting eleven and will be
relegated to the bench so as to be an "impact" player. I could be an emergency left back
or I could come on as a timewasting manoeuvre late in the game.
Amazingly, Spizz was not considered as a first choice but he makes the team as
spearheading the attack. I have argued for a diamond formation but apparently
the consensus of opinion is to go for four-four-two. Gawd knows what Paris will
make of it.
The leading proponent of me not playing is Gashead, who wants me to be just
the kit manager. On the captain issue I have decided to go for youth and pick
Big Sam rather than Big Dave. Big Sam is only 36 and needs grooming for the
top, tough games.

A vacuum with no feedback in sight.
Still operating in a vacuum with no feedback from the lads, so I have still try to be
my creative self. Spizz has contacted me has left this link
http://www.spizzenergi.com/tvindex.htm while another good one is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXvjmqRIFJQ
Why do I like Man Utd? I was brought up a Cockney Red and was able to see Law, Charlton
and Best, although by that time Charlton and Law were past their prime while George Best
was just stunning. The most entertaining game I have seen was one between
Sheffield United v Leicester City at Bramall Lane. Tony Currie and Frank Worthington
went through all their party tricks.
I think it sucks how Man Utd played a weakend team at Old Trafford, which led to
West Ham staying up and Sheffield United going down.
Any "Spizz Paris" should be a good laugh.
SPIZZ has finally found a way to celebrate his 30th Anniversary as a performer. Suitably it will be an intimate affair at Filthy MacNasty's performing live as SPIZZENERGI. I am not getting much feedback or comment!
I am not getting much feedback or comment about the Spizz football tour of Gay Paree
but at least I am getting the gig "out there". I am going to be taking despairing measures
to get fitness up to scratch. At least I can touch my toes (well, almost).
One of our best players and leading candidate for team captain is Big Dave, an Ayr United fan. He is built like a ****house (well comparatively to us weedy other players) and he thinks he scored last week but it was an own goal because the ball took another direction off the goalie's
foot (yours truly!!). This was a rare escapade up front since Big Dave parks himself
in front of goal as the key central defender and does endless back passes, sometimes to slow
the game down. This is a shame because the game is slow enough as it. When he passes,
this is mainly to his brother Steve up front.
Don't forget the gig at Filthy's is a month away today. I am really looking forward to it
as well as the Spizz Paris football tour.

Just to keep you updated on the Spizz football tour.
Just to keep you updated on the football tour of Paris by Spizz's team of strolling players.
We have not come up with a name for the team yet. Spizz Corinthians would show our
commitment to proper football with no diving in the box etc. There would also be a link
to Samba football with the Paulista team of the same name. What do you think would
be a good name for the team?

I am running a series of fitness tests!
To get fit for the team in Paris with Spizz's collection of strolling players,
I am running a series of punishing fitness tests on myself. Today I walked the dog
and felt a twinge go down my right leg. That represented an improvement
on yesterday but I might go for massage and acupuncture, if the team can
pay for these medical bills.
I hope to go for intensive workouts, which in my case is a jog round the block,
quite soon. This is in order that I can win my place in the team on merit.
Otherwise, being the Guvnor, I will just pick the side with me in it at
left back.

Getting the funds in!!
Dear All, getting the funds in for a trip of this magnitude, it is close to Operation Overlord)
in logistical complexity, is complicated. I have decided to go for post-dated cheques of
£30 each and then raise the balance so that we can purchase the tickets in
January.
We have not picked the date yet but that will be set by Spizz's heavy commitments.
I prefer March since Paris in February could be a bit chilly and if I am not picked for
the team, then I don't want to freeze my nuts off watching our glorious team on the
sidelines. Personally, I want to play but Gashead wants me to be in charge of
the kit.

Champs Elysees slipping from chic to seedy!
It is a shame that the Champs Elysees is slipping from chic to seedy. Guy Charent
says the avenue has become a magnet for "unstable youths". This is a story from
today's Daily Telegraph, my favourite paper, while M. Charent is head of Paris's
anti-prostitution brigade. Apparently, some naughty Moroccan women fly over
for a bit of business.
My dream scenario for Spizz's football match in Paris would be a good game,
winning 2-1, followed by a meal for all the players and then finish off with a
few sherberts and a quiet night back at the hotel.
Somehow I don't think this is going to happen unfortunately.

What I think of Aston Villa!!!
Spizz is a big Aston Villa and that endeared him to me. Obviously, Spizz is a wonderful
human being but supporting one of the best clubs in terms of British supporters is a real
plus.
Picture the scene, a young Cockney Red goes to see Villa v Man Utd in the late 70s.
Because of lack of money and of sanity the said Cockney Red goes to see them in the
Holt End. Ashley Grimes somehow skims the defence and puts a cross over that nobody
gets because the rest of the United players don't think Ashley is capable that.
Later on in the game Man Utd have a penalty shout echoed by a lone, and I mean lone
voice, in the Holt End. Luckily, the penalty shout was turned down and the guys round
me said that was a good shout in a good humour. On certain grounds (Hammers,
Scousers, Chels) you would be looking at a Man Utd supporter with a few
less limbs.
The other time I saw Villa play at Villa Park was when Deportivo de la Corunna
came to town and sneaked a one nil win for the away tie. Atkinson somehow managed
to field a team, which did not want to play. After the game the good-natured
Villa fans were waiting outside to swap shirts and other items with the
Spanish supporters.
Spizz is playing at Filthys on Dec 15th.

Big Sam is a tower of strength!!
If there is any team selection conference, I want to play with Big Sam!! He is a rock in
in defence. I am usually in goal so I get to see quite a bit of Sam unlike those sods at
the front, who don't run back. You know who you are!!
Big Sam is also a fully rounded gentleman and expressed concern if I was OK or not
at the pub last Friday. I did not tell him but I was concerned that Gashead went without
paying for a round!!
In one of my future posts, I will express my views on the footballing skills of Spizz himself!
But don't forget the Dec 15th London date at Filthys!

I hope Spizz has not changed his mind over Paris!!
Dear Readers, I hope Spizz has not changed his mind over the Paris football tour?
The ideal number for the trip is around 12 to 14 and so we could field two teams against
the Frogs. We would be distributed over two to three hotels so if somebody goes amok
in a Gay Paree estabilishment, we won't all have to pay for damages. I know a nice
hotel near Montparnasse and next to a couple of OK hostelries. The main problem
about drinking in Paris, if you move to a British high volume strategy, it can become
pretty costly. This is unless we find a Carrefour and buy in bulk to drink in the
park.

Spizz's football tour Part 2
We are looking to go perhaps late February or early March 2008. If the missus lets me
it will involve an overnight stay. Doing a same day trip on Eurostar sounds feasible but
not much fun. I want to see the sights, Paris Saint Germain, and if you readers have
any recommendations on where to stay, feel free to post them in!!
The guys who said yes last night included I was an Arsenal fan before you were an
Arsenal fan, Stevo and his brother Big Dave, both Ayr United Fans, Boro Dave,
Gashead, Big Sam and me, who is a Man Utd, Spurs and Barnet fan. I admit I am pretty
confused, but maybe I have all the bases covered. And Spizz!!
The only problem about my football is that I have been relegated to that scrapheap of
always being in goal. So I am the tour secretary but would rather be known as the
"Guvnor" for the length of this tour. Spizz is a well-known Aston Villa fan.

Spizz football tour, Paris 2008
Just to explain Spizz was having a few stellas last night in the boozer with the football crowd,
when he let slip that a few fans in France wanted him to play in Paris. This was after seeing
Spizz's video clip on You Tube where he waltzes past several players. I am afraid that was
in 1994. In November 2007 Spizz is a favourite choice for the captain to fill up the goal.
Mick Jagger might have kept his sylph like body but looking at Spizz in the showers after
the game requires a stiff drink before and a stiff drink afterwards.
I digress. Spizz is a pop star and he will be making pop, more ways than one at Filthy's
on December 15th. I saw Spizz at the 100 Club and while not at the top of my all-time
pop concert list (Led Zeppelin, Earls Court, 1975) it was a creditable performance and
and a good time was had by all.
I hope the blog will be a diverting read for Spizz fans and why am I writing it? Apparently,
I organised the last foreign trip of the footballers and so I might as well do this one.
Initial deposit of £30 up front next Friday, Gentlemen.
As for any possible sponsors, the more the merrier. I dread to think what the beer bill will
be if Spizz starts putting the Stellas away in Paris.
